Freestyle integration into Blender

Consolidation update

Filed under: Update — The dev team @ 10:29 PM

I consolidated the code base today:

  • removed unused functions in the Controller and AppCanvas classes
  • corrected a crash when the scene is empty
  • removed AppGLWidget and all related classes (AFAIR, this was the last remaining Qt dependency)
  • added an AppView class to transfer camera information from Blender to Freestyle
  • corrected the Python interpreter so that the executed scripts are not left opened in the text editor

Let me know if the 17784 revision is unstable.

  1. I just saw your recent updates in the blender CVS. Thank you for the additional updates and development. The new builds seem much more stable. Your hard work is greatly appreciated.

  3. Hi Maxime,
I saw that you replaced a number of libraries. With this new freestyle asset, is there any chance to have a Mac PPC build?
    Thanks for your continued effort.

  4. Hello robi,
Unfortunately, I cannot create a Mac PPC build (I am under a Mac Intel). If you are not too scared of downloading the branch and using a terminal, you could definitely build it yourself
    – the branch can be downloaded using the following command:

    svn co

    – instructions for building the branch (using either scons or CMake) are available on the following wiki pages:

I hope this is enough to get you started. If you run into problems, don’t hesitate to contact me by email.

  5. Thank you Maxime, I’m going to try (I tried with the old freestyle unix sources, with no success – a whole month of frustration.. for that reason I asked you before tryng by me, but seems it’s time to give the devtools another chance).
Thank you for the starting point, I will keep you informed on eventual success ;)
